Tuesday night, March 5th our fearless leader, and Vice President for the Future Construction Leaders Foundation, Melinda Dicharry, presented at the NAWIC SD Toast to the Trades dinner. She discussed 2019 Camp NAWIC and how we have tripled in size over the last few years thanks to everyone’s hard work, as well as, the support from our sponsors. She introduced Ana Gutierrez, who was a camper at our very first Camp NAWIC, also known as Magic Camp. Ana shared her experience and the impact it made on her and her family, she is now a Project Engineer at Clark Construction. Our presenter for the evening was Kayleen McCabe, General Contractor, and TV Host for Rescue Renovation. She was able to visit some of our local high schools and talk to the girls in the shop classes about the different paths they could take to have a career in the construction industry. Kayleen will also be joining us for our 2019 Camp NAWIC! Additionally, NAWIC San Diego Chapter 21 presented her with a City of San Diego Proclamation for “Kayleen McCabe Day,” March 5th, 2019.
